Real Simple...

After I posted my resolution,  I took my son to get a haircut and at the salon they had the new Real Simple magazine there.  And on the cover..there it was, My New Year's Resolution.  Be Happy.

Real Simple Cover 0111

This Month's Question, in the magazine, is "What is the one small thing that always makes you happy?"    Because it is the small things in the day that can really make you happy.

My 2011 Resolution is....

It always takes me awhile to decide what my New Years resolution will be. I try to make it something that I can work on that improves me as a person. So there's a lot to choose from. From being on time, to losing weight, to being organized..etc,etc. There is always room for improvement!

I've decided for the year 2011 my New Years resolution is...

..Be Happy!

Easy, right??? A lot of times I let other people and their moods affect me, or let situations I have no control of. I haven't done anything creative lately, and I don't take the time to do things that truly make me happy.  I want to be as happy as Drew Barrymore looks..

So this year I am focusing on things that make me happy.

Spending a day at the bookstore
Enjoying a good cup of coffee..and maybe a cupcake with it.
A nice walk
Scrapbooking, which I haven't done in years
Spending a day with a friend
Hanging out with my husband
Playing games with my kids
Road trips
Lunch with my mom
Shopping...of course
Fitting into my skinny jeans..this would make me really happy
Start running again (so I can fit into those skinny jeans)
Decorating my house
Crafting
Taking pictures of my family
Reading a good book
Music

The list can go on which is a good thing. There's a lot of simple things that make me happy. I know there will be days I might feel like this..

But then I will try to remember my resolution and do something "happy".

I am definitely getting tested today!

What's on your list?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I have enjoyed this Christmas and I know it's come and gone but I like to spread the Christmas cheer until the new year.

It has been crazy busy...but lots of fun. Shopping, wrapping, giving, sledding, baking, celebrating birthdays, cooking, eating, and somewhere in there I fit in a little water park action. The bathing suit thing though....not pretty. I know what my New Years resolution is going to be, again!

Along with that resolution, I am also taking the 21 day challenge here...

in hopes to catch that organizing bug. Since moving I have no idea where anything is. And in fact, a lot of it is still in packing boxes. Ugh!

Want to get organized this year too? Come and join me.

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday and the New Year brings lots of wonderful memories.
And thank you for all the wonderful birthday wishes!
